A thin ray of sunlight fell on the motionless figure sprawled unglamourously on the queensized bed. Used to waking up while the sky was still dark, sleeping in till 1030 was a real luxury for the little missus. Since 2010 started, there were the few occasions like this, where she treated herself to sleeping in, without the thought of uncompleted work nagging at the back of her head.

Minutes later, her alarm sounded. Lazily, she peeped from beneath her covers, her half opened eyes, flickered, still getting used to her environment. Her arm swept across the bed blindly, before landing on the familiar shape of her Iphone. Squinting at the time on the screen, she hesitated for a moment, tempted to fall back into slumber, but a thought warned her otherwise. She had a lunch appointment, and that was a date dear enough not to be missed.

The next half hour ticked by fruitfully. She put together her assemble of clothing, made a mental note of what accessories and shoes to wear. Trivial, but being fashionably comfortable and right enhanced her days to lengths unimaginable to some, such as her endearing other half. Those who loved her and knew her, witnessed her obsession with dresses and pretty shoes on a daily basis, as she carefully wedged her way down the ranks while taking attendance.

She took one last check, peering out of her window, wishing she would not walk into a storm. Normally, she would love a cloudy day, but not today. She wasn't planning to bring along any jackets for any emergency situations. The smile on her face said it all. As she felt the first ray of morning sun fall on her face, she could already feel it in her bloodstream. It was going to be an awesome day. :)

2010, since it started, has been my year of excellence…

being involved, going to extremes, attempting, falling, then pulling myself up again.

There is nothing i would give in exchange for the friendships i've built with these students i hold dear.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing how a student, bad as he was, can climb up the humble ladder of learning, and seeing him muster the skills i teach to them.

There are few things which makes me feel as magical as being able to laugh with my students...
